Beech House Veterinary Surgery is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes how we collect and use information.

How do we collect information?

We obtain personal information about you when you make an enquiry or register with us, either by phone, via email or on our website or face to face.

What information do we collect?

Information collected may include: name, postal address, email address and telephone number. We collect information about your pet, including their age, weight, colour, neutering details and microchip number.  Also, we would collect details about clinical records and pet insurance.  For farm animals, we connect to government websites to gain identity numbers for cattle and sheep.   We also collect general information about the use of our website, such as which are the most popular pages or items, where website visitors come from and how long they spend on our site.

How do we use your information?

Our lawful basis for using the information you have given us to contact you about your animal, regarding its health and veterinary treatment and to manage our payment processes. We also send you news. We store it for legal and financial reasons.

We may need to share your information with our service providers for the purposes described above. These include:

  • insurance agencies,
  • veterinary hospitals and referral practices;
  • Laboratories;
  • other veterinary practices and veterinary service providers where you take your animal for treatment or inspection.

Beech House Veterinary Surgery takes appropriate measures to ensure that your personal information is kept secure, accurate, up to date and kept only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it is collected.  Data is stored for 7 years for financial reasons.

You have a right to access your data at any time and we will correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete.

You can withdraw consent for data usage at any time.  There will be no change in our provision of service to you if you do so.

At your request, we will remove your data from our system, where there is no reason for us to hold it.
