Microchipping Your Cat

Why is it Good to Microchip your cat?

  • By law all cats older than 20 weeks of age need to be microchipped
  • Your cat might get lost or stolen – vets or animal welfare organisations can scan lost cats for microchips.
  • Unlike collars and ID tags, microchips don’t come off and they don’t put your cat at risk of injury.
  • The procedure to microchip your cat is quick and is no more painful than an injection.
  • You can even get microchip matched cat flaps

Take a look at this helpful video from the Cat’s Protection League https://www.cats.org.uk/help-and-advice/neutering-and-vaccinations/microchipping-your-cat

If your cat is already microchipped, check with your chip provider that your details are up to date.
